Abstract
Dette speciale undersøger, hvordan tillid påvirker, om borgere accepterer og bruger internetbaserede demokratiske debat- og afstemningssystemer. Udgangspunktet er antagelsen om, at tillid er afgørende for udbredelsen af sådanne systemer. Med afsæt i et litteraturstudie udvikler vi en teoretisk tillidsmodel, der præciserer, hvad "tillid" betyder i denne sammenhæng, og gør begrebet anvendeligt i praksis (operationalisering) for i-demokratiske platforme. Som led i undersøgelsen gennemfører vi to fokusgruppeinterviews for at belyse, hvilken rolle de identificerede tillidsaspekter spiller for borgernes accept og brug. Ved hjælp af en hermeneutisk (fortolkende) analyse, der kombinerer vores tillidsmodel med deltagernes udsagn, når vi frem til en række centrale konklusioner, som understreger tillidens betydning for accept og brug af internet-demokratiske systemer.
This thesis examines how trust influences whether people accept and use internet-based democratic debate and voting systems. We start from the assumption that trust is critical to the uptake of such systems. Based on a literature review, we develop a theoretical trust model that clarifies what "trust" means in this context and makes the concept applicable in practice (operationalization) for i-democracy platforms. As part of the study, we conduct two focus group interviews to explore how the identified dimensions of trust matter for acceptance and use. Through a hermeneutic (interpretive) analysis that combines our trust model with participants' statements, we arrive at key conclusions that highlight the importance of trust for the acceptance and use of internet-democratic systems.
