Abstract
This thesis examines interference modeling for IMT-Advanced (4G) in local area TDD scenarios, focusing on synchronization-related interference. Building on a computer simulator, the study implements spectrum allocation, a user sorting approach, power control, and Effective SIR Mapping (EESM) for system-level evaluations. Simulations consider different cell layouts (multiple rooms, square versus rectangular), traffic conditions, and synchronization settings, and compare OFDMA in downlink with SC-FDMA in uplink. Findings indicate that square cells with multiple rooms yield better SINR than rectangular cells; the sorting approach improves uplink performance for the most interfered users, and combining it with power control also improves downlink. Implementing ESM suggests that OFDMA in downlink performs worse than SIR, while SC-FDMA in uplink outperforms OFDMA. The work provides insights into managing synchronization interference and reducing interference in local TDD systems.
Denne afhandling undersøger interferensmodellering for IMT-Advanced (4G) i lokale TDD-scenarier med fokus på synkroniseringsinterferens. Udgangspunktet er en computersimulator, der udvides med spektrumsallokering, en sorteringsmetode for brugere, effektkontrol (power control) og Effective SIR Mapping (EESM) for systemniveauvurderinger.
