Abstract
Madspild er et voksende problem, der bruger unødige ressourcer og udleder drivhusgasser, som skader klimaet. Når madaffald genanvendes, kan det også bidrage til at afhjælpe mangel på vigtige næringsstoffer i landbruget. Fordi meget af problemet starter i hjemmet, undersøger dette speciale, hvilke praksisser der hindrer husholdninger i både at forebygge madspild og at sortere madaffald korrekt. Projektet er lavet i samarbejde med Econet. Specialet bruger sociotekniske systemer og praksisteori – det vil sige rammer, der ser på samspillet mellem mennesker og teknologier samt på, hvordan hverdagsrutiner former adfærd – for at forstå husholdningers håndtering af affald i hjemmet. Food waste is a growing problem that consumes unnecessary resources and produces emissions that harm the climate. Recovering and recycling food waste can also help address shortages of essential nutrients in agriculture. Because much of the issue begins at home, this thesis examines which household practices hinder both preventing food waste and sorting food waste correctly. The project is carried out in collaboration with Econet. It draws on socio-technical systems theory and practice theory—frameworks that look at how people and technologies interact and how everyday routines shape behavior—to understand waste handling in the home. Five households were interviewed. The findings show that challenges arise across many everyday practices, from meal planning to saving leftovers and sorting food waste.
