Abstract

Dette studie undersøger, hvilke faktorer der påvirker, hvordan små og mellemstore virksomheder (SMV’er) i udviklingslande i Latinamerika implementerer informations- og kommunikationsteknologi (IKT). Resultaterne viser, at omkostningsfaktoren er forbundet med brugen af efterspørgselsprognose-software (værktøjer, der forudsiger fremtidig efterspørgsel) og leverandørstyret lager (VMI) (hvor leverandøren hjælper med at styre lagerbeholdningen). Der er også en sammenhæng mellem CEO’ers erfaring med IKT og implementeringsfaktoren 'nem implementering'. Derudover ses flere positive og negative sammenhænge mellem brugen af IKT-værktøjer i forsyningskædens delprocesser, såsom lagerstyring og kundeforhold. Disse sammenhænge er korrelationer og påviser ikke årsag-virkning.

This study examines which factors influence how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries in Latin America implement information and communication technology (ICT). The results show that the cost factor is associated with the use of demand forecasting software (tools that predict future demand) and vendor-managed inventory (VMI) systems (where suppliers help manage stock levels). CEOs’ experience with ICT is also correlated with the implementation factor 'easy implementation'. In addition, we observe several positive and negative correlations between the use of ICT tools in supply-chain subprocesses such as inventory management and customer relationships. These are correlations, not evidence of cause and effect.
