Abstract
This master’s thesis investigates how to increase the free reuse of things among inhabitants in the Copenhagen area by building on existing services and initiatives. Conducted in collaboration with Innoaid and its Freeng platform, the work is framed by Actor-Network Theory’s translation process and participatory design. Methodologically, the study combines interviews with residents, field visits to physical reuse services, and a series of co-design prototyping spaces with relevant actors, including citizens, the municipality, and service providers. Analysis of current systems for getting rid of and obtaining items suggests that many residents are unaware of options for free reuse. In response, the thesis proposes an umbrella website that aggregates practical information on how and where to reuse for free and links directly to items shared across relevant platforms, supported by an event or advertising to make it known and used. Rather than a finished technical product, the contribution maps the actors and two new networks needed to establish and promote the website and outlines pathways for subsequent enrollment and mobilization once a prototype is developed.
Denne kandidatafhandling undersøger, hvordan gratis genbrug af ting kan øges blandt beboere i Københavnsområdet ved at udnytte eksisterende tjenester og initiativer. Projektet er gennemført i samarbejde med Innoaid og deres platform Freeng og er rammesat af Actor-Network Theorys oversættelsesproces samt deltagende design. Metodisk kombinerer studiet interviews med beboere, feltbesøg i fysiske genbrugsinitiativer og en række co-design prototypingsrum med relevante aktører, herunder borgere, kommunen og serviceudbydere. Analysen af de nuværende systemer til at komme af med ting og skaffe ting peger på, at mange beboere ikke kender mulighederne for gratis genbrug. På den baggrund foreslås et paraplywebsite, der samler praktisk information om, hvordan og hvor man kan genbruge gratis i området, og som linker direkte til ting, der deles på relevante platforme, understøttet af et event eller reklame for at gøre løsningen kendt og brugt.
