Abstract
This thesis uses two primary cases and a third as a methodological reference to explore how iBeacon technology can be applied in user experience (UX) design in specific contexts. iBeacon is a Bluetooth-based beacon that enables location-aware interactions in physical spaces. The main case is the application software company Huge Lawn, which is currently exploring iBeacons. The second case is the Danish fast-food chain Sunset Boulevard. The project results in two concepts: (1) a review of Huge Lawn's internal app development process, supplemented with two revised process concepts and a method kit that clarifies and suggests new process activities; and (2) a customer app concept for Sunset Boulevard that includes iBeacon features.
