Abstract
Denne opgave undersøger, hvordan dokumentation i pleje- og omsorgssystemet Gerica kan understøtte elektronisk samhandling mellem sygeplejersker i Arendal kommune. Med udgangspunkt i sygeplejerskers lovpligtige dokumentationsansvar og nationale mål for elektroniske journaler kortlægges den aktuelle brug af Gerica i hjemmepleje og institutioner. Teoretisk inddrages perspektiver på dokumentation, kommunikation, organisationsændring, virksomhedsteori og Technology Acceptance Model. Empirisk anvendes en kvalitativ tilgang med deltagende observation og kvalitative forskningsinterviews med sygeplejersker samt dialog med kommunens Gerica-konsulent. En illustrativ case viser de omfattende informationsbehov ved patientovergange, mens tekniske begrænsninger (bl.a. PDA’er) og forskellig modulanvendelse (arbejdslister/tjenestebillede vs. tiltaksplaner) udfordrer elektronisk overlevering og fastholder mundtlige og papirbaserede rutiner. Formålet er at identificere kommunikative barrierer og udviklingsmuligheder, så brugerne kan medvirke til at forbedre samhandling, kompetencer og implementering af Gerica. This thesis examines how documentation in the Gerica care system can support electronic collaboration among nurses in Arendal municipality. Anchored in nurses’ legal documentation duties and national ambitions for electronic health records, the study maps current use of Gerica across home care and institutional settings. The theoretical framing draws on documentation, communication, organizational change, activity theory, and the Technology Acceptance Model. Methodologically, the study applies a qualitative approach using participant observation and qualitative research interviews with nurses, supplemented by input from the municipal Gerica consultant. An illustrative patient pathway highlights extensive information needs during care transitions, while technical constraints (including PDAs) and divergent module use (worklists/service view versus care plans) challenge electronic handovers and sustain oral and paper-based routines. The aim is to identify communicative barriers and development opportunities so users can help improve collaboration, competencies, and the implementation of Gerica.
