This master’s urban design project responds to the architectural competition for Humlebæk Syd (58 ha) by addressing contemporary suburban challenges rooted in modernist planning, especially functional separation and introverted housing enclaves. Based on a structural analysis of Humlebæk and literature on garden city and welfare city development, the project identifies social segregation, weak public spaces, and car-oriented infrastructure as key issues.
