Abstract

Specialet præsenterer HUG+—et møbel designet til gangarealer i folkeskolen—udviklet i samarbejde med Højer Møbler A/S, en dansk producent af skolemøbler. Formålet er at skabe en enkel, fleksibel løsning, der understøtter gruppearbejde og samtidig udnytter skolernes gangarealer bedre. Arbejdet bygger på to spor: observationer i folkeskoler og research i moderne undervisningsformer, som vægter samarbejde, variation og effektiv læring. På den baggrund er HUG+ formgivet til at passe ind i de forandringer, som den aktuelle skolereform driver frem, hvor skolerne efterspørger nye læringsrum uden for det traditionelle klasselokale. HUG+ kan tilpasses den konkrete opgave og elevgruppens behov. Eleverne kan vælge mere åben eller mere afskærmet indretning alt efter, om de har brug for synlighed og kontakt eller for ro og fordybelse. Denne fleksibilitet har til formål at give tryghed og støtte koncentrationen, hvilket kan bidrage til bedre og mere effektiv læring. This thesis presents HUG+, a piece of furniture designed for school corridors, developed in collaboration with Højer Møbler A/S, a Danish manufacturer of school furniture. The aim is to create a simple, flexible solution that supports group work while making better use of hallway space in Danish public primary and lower secondary schools. The project draws on two sources of insight: observations in schools and research on contemporary teaching approaches that emphasize collaboration, variety, and effective learning. On this basis, HUG+ is designed to align with ongoing changes driven by school reform, which encourages schools to create new learning spaces beyond the traditional classroom. HUG+ can be adapted to the task and to students’ needs. Pupils can choose a more open or a more enclosed setup depending on whether they need visibility and contact or quiet and focus. This flexibility is intended to foster a sense of safety and support concentration, which may lead to better and more effective learning. Overall, HUG+ offers furniture that invites learning through group work and brings corridor areas into active use during the school day.
