This thesis examines how narrative can drive architectural quality through the design of Hospice Thurø on the Thurø Reef in the South Funen Archipelago, Denmark. Framed within palliative architecture, the work concentrates on the patient’s private space as a reimagined bedroom, where furnishing and tectonic detail support both practical needs and poetic experience so the place feels more like a home than an institution.
