Abstract
This thesis examines Denmark’s role in Chile’s emerging green hydrogen industry through the HNH Energy project in Magallanes, Patagonia. It uses a two-part framework that combines Global Production Networks (GPNs)—the cross-border ties that organize production and investment—and Sociotechnical Imaginaries (SIs)—shared visions of how technology and society should develop. Using this lens, the study analyzes how governance (who makes decisions and sets rules), value creation (who benefits), and competing visions of the green transition interact in a new hydrogen economy. The findings show that the Danish lead actor, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), has strategically positioned itself within the Chilean hydrogen industry while shaping dominant narratives about sustainability, industrial upgrading, and future green development.
Denne afhandling undersøger Danmarks rolle i Chiles spirende industri for grønt brint gennem HNH Energy-projektet i Magallanes, Patagonien.
