Abstract
This thesis explores how traditional half-timber construction can be reimagined using contemporary digital design methods. Half-timber buildings have a visible wooden frame with infill walls; this structural tradition also includes small asymmetries and variations. Drawing on these deformations, the project develops a modern reinterpretation. The design work is based on the competition brief for a new extension to the Møntergården Museum in Odense, which serves as the platform for testing the approach.
