Abstract
This thesis builds on a pilot project at the Port of Aarhus and examines how a shared system for exchanging industrial excess heat among port companies can be designed and used as an additional approach to excess heat utilization. The research question addresses both the system design and how regulatory and technical conditions, as well as contractual terms and agreements, shape the feasibility of establishing such a system. Methodologically, the study applies a case-based analysis with energyPRO modeling, complemented by meetings with external partners, interviews, and a literature review. A sensitivity analysis is used to test the design under varying assumptions, including changes in excess heat availability, degree of connection, temperature requirements, and relevant taxes (e.g., on excess heat and electricity used for heat). The thesis concludes that a common system can be designed and could function in practice as a supplementary pathway for using excess heat at the Port of Aarhus, but implementation is significantly influenced by existing regulatory, technical, and contractual frameworks.
Dette speciale tager udgangspunkt i et pilotprojekt om overskudsvarme på Aarhus Havn og undersøger, hvordan et fælles system til udveksling af overskudsvarme mellem havnens virksomheder kan designes og fungere som et supplerende greb i udnyttelsen af overskudsvarme. Forskningsspørgsmålet adresserer både selve systemdesignet og hvordan regulative og tekniske forhold samt kontraktuelle vilkår og aftaler påvirker mulighederne for at etablere et sådant system. Metodisk gennemføres et cases tudy med modelberegninger i energyPRO, suppleret af møder med eksterne samarbejdspartnere, interviews og litteraturstudier.
