Dette projekt introducerer begrebet e-sundhed, dvs. brugen af digitale teknologier til at levere og understøtte sundhedsydelser. Vi undersøger, hvordan e-sundhed påvirker kvaliteten af den almindelige sundhedspleje, og hvilket potentiale løsningerne har i udviklingsregioner. Som eksempel ser vi på Europa for at vise, hvordan effekterne varierer mellem lande, med udgangspunkt i tendenser og statistikker fra europæiske handlingsplaner. Det tydeliggør, hvorfor e-sundhed er vigtig for både patienter og andre interessenter. Vi sammenligner også udviklede og udviklingslande for at belyse forskelle i sundhedssektorens kvalitet. Derudover vurderer vi, om en udbredt primærplejemodel for e-sundhed fra udviklede områder kan tilpasses Tanzania ud fra regionens tilgængelige teknologi. Afslutningsvis designer og implementerer vi en e-sundhedsapplikation med fokus på primærpleje, baseret på etablerede modeller og tilpasset Tanzanias teknologiske rammer samt patienters funktionelle behov.

This project introduces e-health, the use of digital technologies to deliver and support health services. We examine how e-health affects the quality of conventional care and its potential in developing regions. To show how impacts differ across countries, we review the current situation in Europe, using trends and statistics from European action plan documents to highlight why e-health matters for patients and other stakeholders. We also contrast developed and developing countries to illustrate differences in healthcare quality. In addition, we assess the feasibility of adapting a primary-care eHealth model used in developed settings to Tanzania, based on the technology available there. Finally, we design and implement a primary-care eHealth application grounded in established models and tailored to Tanzania's technological environment and to patients' functional needs.
