Abstract

This thesis presents an inductive qualitative analysis of the operations consulting industry in Denmark to explain what drives current service offerings and which management fashion trends shape them. Drawing on document analysis and expert interviews, the study maps the market’s present areas of focus and links them to management fashion theory. Three prominent fashions are identified: Lean, digitalization, and blockchain. The analysis further indicates that external market competition and consultants’ internal innovative orientation are key drivers influencing which services are developed and promoted. The thesis offers an overview of Denmark’s operations consulting landscape and highlights avenues for future research, particularly deeper examination of blockchain and consultancies’ CSR as potential underlying drivers.
