Abstract
Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan USA's beslutning om at trække sig fra atomaftalen med Iran, en international aftale om Irans nukleare program, har påvirket forholdet mellem Europa og USA. Gennem en analyse af taler og offentlige udtalelser fra europæiske ledere ser afhandlingen på, hvordan ord (diskurs) hænger sammen med politik (konkrete beslutninger og samarbejde), og hvad det kan betyde for fremtidig transatlantisk diplomati. This thesis examines how the United States' decision to withdraw from the nuclear agreement with Iran, an international deal concerning Iran's nuclear program, affected relations between Europe and the United States. By analyzing speeches and public statements by European leaders, the study explores how discourse (what leaders say) connects to policy (what governments do) and what this means for the future of transatlantic diplomacy. The findings indicate broad and predominantly negative consequences of the American withdrawal, including growing alienation and reduced policy alignment between Europe and the United States.
