Abstract

This thesis addresses the limited conceptualization of corporate resilience in corporate governance by developing and testing a model grounded in the Resource Based View (RBV) and Transaction Cost Economics (TCE). Using data from corporate firms in Bangladesh, PLS-SEM is applied to validate the measurement and structural models, examining key antecedents—benevolence, commitment, flexibility, information sharing, recovery, and response—as drivers of resilience under disruptive conditions. The results indicate that benevolence, commitment, and recovery are significantly associated with higher corporate resilience, whereas flexibility, information sharing, and response are not supported as core conditions. The study underscores RBV and TCE as useful frameworks for theory and practice, guiding firms in adapting to disruptions with emphasis on trust dimensions and collaborative practices.
