Abstract
Mange virksomheder har fokus på onboarding, fordi der løbende ansættes nye medarbejdere, og oplæringen skal fungere for alle. I denne afhandling undersøges onboarding hos Novo Nordisk i Danmark med særligt blik for e-læringsaktiviteter. De nuværende forløb handler primært om introduktion til virksomheden, kultur, praktiske forhold og interne politikker. Der er derfor behov for et mere personligt tilpasset forløb, som tager højde for forskellige læringsbehov, læringspræferencer og forudgående viden. Målet er at hjælpe Novo Nordisk med at udvikle et konceptuelt model for et læringsmiljø, der gør job-onboarding mere personlig og giver nye medarbejdere de rette færdigheder fra første dag – samtidig med at løsningen kan harmoniseres og skaleres globalt. Afhandlingen anvender en designbaseret forskningsmetode, hvor design og forskning går hånd i hånd. Processen begyndte med desk research af relevant litteratur om onboarding. Derefter blev problemer og behov identificeret gennem interviews med sekundære interessenter (parter, der påvirker onboarding), og der blev afholdt et Future Workshop med primære interessenter (dem, der er direkte involveret) for at samskabe løsninger. Tilgangen viste, at brugerdrevet design er velegnet til at forstå brugernes behov. De indsamlede data blev analyseret med meningskondensering og hermeneutisk meningsfortolkning (at sammenfatte kernepointer og tolke dem i kontekst) og brugt til at udvikle en low-fidelity prototype – en tidlig, enkel udgave af systemet. Resultatet peger på, hvordan systemets brugergrænseflade, informationsarkitektur (hvordan indhold organiseres) og interaktionsdesign bør udformes for at imødekomme brugernes behov, og giver et konceptuelt grundlag for videre udvikling.
Many companies prioritize onboarding because they hire regularly and need training that works for everyone. This thesis examines onboarding at Novo Nordisk in Denmark, with a special focus on e-learning used during onboarding. Current activities mainly introduce the company, its culture, practical matters, and internal policies. There is a need to shift toward a more personalized approach that adapts to different learning needs, learning preferences, and prior knowledge. The goal is to help Novo Nordisk create a conceptual model for a learning environment that makes job onboarding more personalized, equips new employees with the right skills from day one, and can be harmonized and scaled globally. The study uses a design-based research approach, where design and research inform each other. The process began with desk research on onboarding literature. Next, the problem was defined through interviews with secondary stakeholders (people who influence onboarding), followed by a Future Workshop with primary stakeholders (those directly involved) to co-create solutions. This user-centered design approach proved useful for understanding user needs. Data were analyzed using meaning condensation and hermeneutic meaning interpretation (summarizing key insights and interpreting them in context), and the findings informed a low-fidelity prototype—an early, simple version of the system. Overall, the work outlines how the system’s interface, information architecture (how content is organized), and interaction design should function to meet user needs, providing a conceptual foundation for further development.
