Abstract

Havvindmølleparker samler normalt strøm fra mange turbiner via vekselstrøms (AC) net. Denne afhandling undersøger jævnstrøms (DC) opsamlingsnet som et lovende alternativ, der kan reducere tab og omkostninger, selv om der endnu ikke findes praktisk driftserfaring. For at afdække egenskaber og mulige svagheder udvikler projektet et muligt DC-netdesign, implementerer en styringsstrategi og drøfter et beskyttelsessystem (hvordan fejl opdages og isoleres). Derefter udføres transientanalyse i PSCAD, et simuleringsværktøj til elkraftsystemer, på udvalgte cases for at se typiske bølgeformer i systemets respons, finde maksimale belastninger og verificere, at det foreslåede netdesign virker efter hensigten.

Offshore wind farms usually collect power from many turbines using AC (alternating current) networks. This thesis examines DC (direct current) collection networks as a promising alternative that could reduce losses and costs, even though there is no practical operating experience yet. To explore the concept’s characteristics and possible weaknesses, the project develops a candidate DC network design, implements a control strategy, and discusses a protection scheme (how faults are detected and isolated). It then performs transient analysis in PSCAD, a power-system simulation tool, for selected case studies to observe typical response waveforms, determine maximum stresses, and verify that the proposed network design works as intended.
