Abstract

This thesis examines the shortcomings of Hungary’s electricity system through the lenses of sustainable development, energy planning, and management. As a counterexample, it develops a holistic model of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Pusztazámor landfill. Here, holistic modeling means assessing technical, economic, and environmental factors together with management considerations. The case illustrates how an integrated approach could make renewable energy a more practical and sustainable part of the power supply.
