Abstract

This thesis develops a cultural and creative center for musicians on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen. It examines how musicians create and how architectural spaces can support that process, treating sound as an active design element. Three main pillars guide the work: acoustics (how sound behaves in rooms), aural architecture (how we experience space through listening), and co-working (shared work environments). Based on these, the project proposes a co-working facility for musicians that strengthens both creative practice and community through spaces carefully shaped for sound and listening. For Refshaleøen, the facility complements existing cultural destinations and supports its role as a cultural hub for Copenhageners. Overall, the center is envisioned as a gateway to the future music and cultural scene.
