Abstract
This thesis proposes a Cancer Health Care Centre in Copenhagen based on healing architecture - the idea that architectural design can support the health and recovery of people with cancer. Guided by evidence-based design, it focuses on the conditions and needs of those diagnosed with cancer. Five case studies of cancer centres in the United Kingdom and Denmark provide insights into how architecture can create a soothing environment and an ambience suited to people in a difficult stage of life.
