Abstract
Defining exactly what a “business model” is—and how to use the concept—turns out to be harder than it seems. This thesis takes on that challenge by reviewing academic literature and examining a practical business case. It explains how researchers describe business models (often as how a company creates and captures value) and shows where definitions overlap or conflict. Using the case, the thesis illustrates how the concept can be applied in practice despite its fuzzy boundaries.
