Abstract

Cities drive economic growth, spark cultural innovation, and help shape social and political change. This thesis aims to show that adaptive reuse of old buildings—giving them new purposes instead of demolishing them—is an effective and cost‑efficient option for Danish cities. It argues that such projects can benefit local communities and support city branding—actively shaping a city's image—in a globalized world, with impacts that extend beyond the local scale.
