Abstract
This project develops a biathlon resort and hotel at Gautefall in southern Norway. The design draws on the Norwegian landscape and traditional materials. Taking a poetic approach, it lets the mountains inspire the concept by translating natural forms and atmospheres into architecture. Through conversations with people in the field and with athletes, the project identifies needs that become key design parameters, with a strong emphasis on community and social spaces. It also aims to meet the Danish 2020 energy standard, which sets requirements for energy efficiency.
