Abstract

I Scrum skal Product Owners løbende prioritere opgaver i Product Backlog. Mange teams fokuserer på omkostninger og tid, men dette projekt undersøger, hvordan man kan prioritere efter forventet forretningsmæssig værdi. Vi anvender en designvidenskabelig tilgang: vi bygger og afprøver en konkret løsning. Vores løsning er en udvidelse til projektstyringsværktøjet Jira, som indarbejder "Benefit Points"—en enkel pointmodel til at vurdere og sammenligne den forventede værdi af backlog-elementer og bruge den i prioriteringen. Vi afprøvede prototypen sammen med tre praktikere. In Scrum, Product Owners must regularly prioritize work in the Product Backlog. Many teams focus on cost and effort; this project explores how to prioritize by expected business value instead. We take a design science approach by building and evaluating a practical solution. Our solution is an extension to the project management tool Jira that implements "Benefit Points"—a simple scoring method for estimating and comparing the expected value of backlog items and using it for prioritization. We evaluated the prototype with three practitioners. Early feedback suggests that Benefit Points can support value-based prioritization, and that integrating the approach into widely used Jira makes it more practical for practitioners.
