Dette bachelorprojekt undersøger sammenhængen mellem socialrådgiverfaget og LGBT+ samt om socialrådgivere og socialrådgiveruddannelsen er tilstrækkeligt klædt på til at møde LGBT+ personer fagligt og respektfuldt. Med udgangspunkt i en hermeneutisk og kritisk-hermeneutisk tilgang anvendes en kvalitativ interviewtilgang og teoretiske perspektiver, herunder anerkendelsesteori (Honneth), stigma (Goffman), kommunikation (Eide & Eide), den bio-psyko-sociale model og Maslows behovshierarki, til at belyse LGBT+ personers livsvilkår og de krav, dette stiller til socialt arbejde. Problemformuleringen retter sig mod, hvordan socialrådgivere bør forholde sig til LGBT+ borgere, og hvorfor området kræver målrettet oplysning og kompetenceudvikling. Analysen peger på, at socialt arbejde har en tydelig berøringsflade med LGBT+ målgruppen, og at socialrådgivere derfor har behov for mere systematisk viden og opmærksomhed på seksualitet og kønsidentitet i praksis. En central anbefaling er at styrke uddannelsens dækning af LGBT+-relaterede temaer for at understøtte anerkendende kommunikation, reducere stigmatisering og kvalificere indsatsen over for en målgruppe, der kan have øget risiko for sociale problemstillinger.
This bachelor project examines the relationship between social work and LGBT+ and assesses whether social workers and the social work education program are sufficiently prepared to meet LGBT+ people in a professional and respectful way. Guided by a hermeneutic and critical-hermeneutic approach, the study uses a qualitative interview strategy and theoretical frameworks, including recognition theory (Honneth), stigma (Goffman), communication (Eide & Eide), the bio-psycho-social model, and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, to illuminate LGBT+ life conditions and their implications for social work practice. The research question concerns how social workers should relate to LGBT+ clients and why the field requires targeted information and competence development. The analysis indicates that social work has a clear interface with the LGBT+ population and that practitioners need more systematic knowledge and attention to sexuality and gender identity in everyday practice. A key recommendation is to strengthen coverage of LGBT+ topics in social work education to support recognizing communication, reduce stigmatization, and improve responses to a group that may face elevated risks of social problems.
