Abstract
As entrepreneurship grows rapidly, more people are starting companies, and a range of support services has emerged. One example is startup accelerators, programs that aim to help young companies grow by providing resources and support. This thesis asks whether accelerators have a lasting, positive effect on the startups that join them. Specifically, it investigates whether accelerated startups perform better than startups that have not taken part in acceleration programs. To answer this, the study presents and applies a performance measurement framework to analyze real company data from more than 400 startups and tests a set of hypotheses to address the research question.
