Abstract

Dette speciale præsenterer en prototype på et museumssystem med forstærket virkelighed (AR) - software der lægger digitale visuelle lag oven på den fysiske verden. Systemet er opbygget som moduler i PAVE (Parallel Architecture for Visual Effects), hvilket gør det i stand til at udnytte flere processorer effektivt: der blev målt en ydelsesforbedring på 54% ved at gå fra én til to processorer. Til visualisering i realtid bruger systemet 3D-grafikhardware og gør det muligt at knytte dynamiske visuelle effekter til 3D-objekter. På testmaskinen kører systemet i realtid med en minimum billedfrekvens på 9,1 billeder pr. sekund (fps).
