Abstract

I denne afhandling undersøger vi luftgennemtrængelig beton (Air Permeable Concrete, APC), en betontype der lader luft passere, med både teoretiske og eksperimentelle metoder. Vi udvikler og afprøver sammensætninger for at opnå høj porøsitet og permeabilitet samtidig med en tilfredsstillende trykstyrke (betonens evne til at bære belastning under tryk). Vi ser også på, om tilsætning af faseændringsmaterialer (Phase Change Materials, PCM) – materialer der optager eller frigiver varme, når de skifter fase – påvirker cementpastaens flydeegenskaber (reologi) og APC’s trykstyrke.

This thesis studies Air Permeable Concrete (APC)—a type of concrete designed to let air pass through—using both theoretical and experimental approaches. We develop and test mix designs to achieve high porosity and permeability while maintaining satisfactory compressive strength (how much load concrete can bear when compressed). We also examine adding Phase Change Materials (PCMs)—substances that absorb or release heat when they change phase—and assess their effects on the flow behavior (rheology) of the cement paste and the compressive strength of APC.
