Abstract

This report describes how we built a working prototype of an electronic calendar for a study with human participants. The prototype builds on earlier semester work and existing research on electronic calendars, notes and lists, group coordination, and sharing. After building the prototype, we designed a study to examine how notes, lists, and sharing influence group scheduling in electronic calendars. The study included a questionnaire, a hands-on feature test, and interviews. We explain how we conducted the study, present the findings, and discuss their implications. We conclude with key takeaways based on these results.
