Abstract
In a fast-changing and unpredictable world, starting a new business is hard. Many traditional business methods were designed for stable conditions and do not fit well under uncertainty. Following Wang et al. (2022), we view a startup as the practical work of building a business in an uncertain setting, where the main task is to reduce uncertainty step by step. This thesis proposes a clear, structured way to make decisions from the first idea onward. At its core is a typology—a simple classification—that helps founders match their business idea to the methods and tools that fit best. We test and validate this typology in two case studies to show its practical relevance and usefulness. We conclude by outlining how future research can further refine and validate the approach.
I en verden, der er hurtig foranderlig og uforudsigelig, er det svært at starte virksomhed. Mange traditionelle forretningsmetoder er udviklet til stabile forhold og rækker ikke til under usikkerhed. Med udgangspunkt i Wang m.fl. (2022) ser vi en startup som den praktiske opgave at bygge en virksomhed i et usikkert miljø, hvor hovedopgaven er gradvist at reducere usikkerhed. Denne afhandling tilbyder en klar, struktureret måde at træffe beslutninger på fra den første idé og frem.
