Abstract

This thesis proposes what a framework for individual creative problem solving could look like. The proposal is based on a comparative analysis of three established approaches: CPS (Creative Problem Solving), TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving), and Lateral Thinking. In brief, CPS offers a step-by-step process, TRIZ identifies recurring patterns in inventive solutions, and Lateral Thinking encourages viewing problems from new angles. By comparing these approaches, the thesis sketches principles that individuals can use to structure their creative work.
