Abstract
Dette studie tager udgangspunkt i idéen om, at forsyningskædeledelse kan være på vej fra lean produktion til agil produktion. Formålet er at tilbyde en klar ramme, der hjælper med at afgøre, om en lean eller en agil forsyningskæde passer bedst. Vi gennemgår tidligere forskning for at identificere de vigtigste faktorer, som andre har brugt i dette valg. På baggrund af denne gennemgang vælger vi en ramme, der vurderes som mest egnet, og vi forbedrer den for at lukke de huller, som litteraturen peger på. Forbedringerne omfatter PESTLE-analyse (politiske, økonomiske, sociale, teknologiske, juridiske og miljømæssige forhold) og Porters generiske strategier (omkostningslederskab, differentiering og fokus). Den resulterende ramme bruges til at vurdere, hvilken tilgang der passer bedst til bilindustrien. Analysen peger på, at en lean strategi for forsyningskæden er mere passende end en agil strategi i bilindustrien. Studiet bidrager teoretisk til feltet ved at indføre et strategisk valg-perspektiv og giver praktikere et værktøj til at forstå og vælge den strategi, der passer til deres forsyningskæde. Rammen kan let tilpasses andre brancher.
This study starts from the idea that supply chain management may be shifting from lean production to agile production. Its goal is to offer a clear framework to decide whether a lean or an agile supply chain is more suitable. We review prior research to identify the main factors others have used to make this choice. Based on this review, we select a framework judged most appropriate and refine it to address gaps noted in the literature. The refinements add PESTLE analysis (considering political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental conditions) and Porter’s generic business strategies (cost leadership, differentiation, and focus). We then use the resulting framework to assess which approach fits the automotive industry. The analysis indicates that a lean supply chain strategy is more appropriate than an agile one for automotive. The study contributes to the supply chain management field by introducing a strategic choice perspective and offers a tool that can help practitioners understand and decide which strategy fits their supply chain. The framework is designed to be easily adapted to other industries as well.
