Abstract
Kandidatspeciale som gennem analyse af Joe Saccos Palestine og Safe Area Gorazde belyser tegneseriemediet som historisk og journalistisk fremstillingsform.
This thesis can be seen as an introduction to comic journalism, a genre of comics that investigates and documents real events in a journalistic way, focusing on the truth rather than effects and superpowers. But this thesis is just as much an analysis that looks into the genre with a historical approach, examining how comics can be used to tell history, in particular the history of the oppressed in war time. Furthermore, this thesis examines the comic genre as a journalistic medium, illustrating the pros and cons of this relatively new kind of journalism, using the well-known comic journalist Joe Sacco and his publications Palestine and Safe Area Goražde as points of reference.
