Dette speciale undersøger og afprøver Bär & Boshouwers’ model 'Evocative, Narrative and Informative stages' med udgangspunkt i naturcentre. Udgangspunktet er en undren over, at mange naturcentre er stærke til at formidle fakta, men i mindre grad formår at inspirere gæsterne—i modsætning til mange museer, der de senere år har prioriteret inspirerende oplevelser frem for blot at vise genstande. Jeg er derfor interesseret i samspillet mellem information og inspiration samt i, hvordan teknologier kan understøtte mere inspirerende formidling. Ifølge Bär & Boshouwers, der står bag Tinker Imagineers og bogen Worlds of Wonder – Experience Design for Curious People, bliver oplevelsescentre først virkelig relevante, når mængden af oplevelser overstiger mængden af information. Deres model beskriver tre faser: en evocativ fase (der vækker nysgerrighed og følelser), en narrativ fase (der binder indhold sammen gennem fortælling) og en informativ fase (der leverer viden og fakta). This thesis investigates and tests Bär & Boshouwers’ model 'Evocative, Narrative and Informative stages' in the context of nature centers. It begins from the observation that many nature centers excel at conveying facts but struggle to inspire visitors—unlike many museums that in recent years have emphasized inspiring experiences over simply displaying objects. I therefore focus on the interplay between information and inspiration, and on how technologies might support more inspiring visitor experiences. According to Bär & Boshouwers, who are behind Tinker Imagineers and the book Worlds of Wonder – Experience Design for Curious People, experience centers become truly relevant when the amount of experiences outweighs the amount of information. Their model describes three stages: an evocative stage (to spark curiosity and emotion), a narrative stage (to organize content through storytelling), and an informative stage (to communicate knowledge and facts). Because the book does not provide theory or data to support the model, this thesis both examines it conceptually and tests it in practice. Methodologically, I begin with literature on experience design, review Bär & Boshouwers’ model and complement it with other perspectives. I then conduct a heuristic evaluation—a qualitative, principle-based review—of the interactive elements in the exhibition at Lille Vildmosen Center. The aim is to assess the model’s usefulness and to map the current balance between informative and evocative elements in the nature center. The thesis finds that some existing theories support the model, but that it requires further development before it is fully functional in practice. As an outcome, I propose clearer working descriptions of the three stages, grounded in both theoretical analysis and the practical study.
