Abstract
This thesis presents an architectural design proposal for a forest kindergarten (an outdoor kindergarten based in the forest) for children aged 3–6, with and without an ADHD diagnosis. The work starts by understanding the everyday challenges children face, so the environment can support their physical, social, and cognitive development. The approach combines playful learning with insights into how light influences biological processes in children. The thesis examines sensory stimulation, light, and sustainability through both qualitative and quantitative methods as drivers of spatial experience and quality. The design proposal offers a range of spaces that enable play, focus, and growth in close relationship with the calm setting of nature.
