Anvendelse af specialiseret teknologi til genoptræning – hvilken betydning har arbejdsorganisering?

Abstract

Baggrund: Rehabilitering af personer med neurologiske skader, blandt andet i form af erhvervet hjerneskade og rygmarvsskade, udgør en stor og kompleks opgave inden for sundheds- og rehabiliteringsområdet. Specialiseret teknologi kan bidrage til at løse denne opgave og anvendelsen af disse kan organiseres på forskellig vis, eksempelvis hvor arbejdet organiseres omkring den enkelte patient, omkring teknologien eller et kontinuum derimellem. Formålet med dette studie er at undersøge, hvordan anvendelse af specialiseret teknologi til genoptræning påvirkes af forskellige faktorer med relation til arbejdsorganisering. Metode: Der er i dette multicenterstudie inkluderet tre forskellige rehabiliteringscentre, og studiet er baseret på et mixed-methods design. Den kvalitative dataindsamling, bestående af semistrukturerede interviews med terapeuter blev udført med det formål at opnå viden om anvendelse i relation til arbejdsorganisering af specialiseret teknologi i praksis. Den kvantitative dataindsamling, bestående af en spørgeskemaundersøgelse, blev udført med det formål at supplere og validere de kvalitative fund. Resultater: Dette studie finder, at følgende faktorer er relateret til arbejdsorganisering og påvirker anvendelse af specialiseret teknologi: Teknologitype, patientgruppe, ressourcer og kompetenceniveau. Derudover findes det, at terapeuters oplevelse af teknologi også påvirker anvendelsen. Faktorerne påvirker graden og kvaliteten af anvendelsen af specialiseret teknologi, og har dermed betydning for, hvordan denne bidrager til patienters rehabiliteringsforløb. Konklusion: De af studiet fremkomne fund kan bidrage med overvejelser i forhold til, hvordan anvendelse af specialiseret teknologi kan organiseres for at opnå den ønskede anvendelse på andre rehabiliteringscentre.

Background: Rehabilitation of people with neurological injuries, such as acquired brain injury or spinal cord injury, amongst others, represents a vast and complex task within the area of health and rehabilitation. Specialized technology can be a part of the solution of this task, and the use of this can be organized in different ways, for instance, where work is organized around the individual patient, or around the technology, or a combination of the two. The objective of this study is to examine how the use of specialized technology for rehabilitation is affected by different factors relating to the organization of the usage of this technology. Methods: This multicenter-study included three different rehabilitation centers, and the study was based on a mixed-methods design. The qualitative data collection consisted of semistructured interviews with therapists. These interviews were conducted with the purpose of gaining knowledge into the usage of specialized technology in relation to the organization of the use in clinical praxis. The quantitative collection consisted of a survey, which was conducted with the purpose of complementing and validating the qualitative findings. Results: The following factors are related to the organization of the usage, and thereby affect the use of specialized technology: Type of technology, group of patients, resources, and levels of skill. Furthermore, the experience of therapists in relation to technology also affects the usage of technology. These factors affect the level and the quality of the usage, and thereby influence to what extent the use of specialized technology contributes to the rehabilitation of the patient. Conclusions: The findings of this study can help determine how specialized technology can be organized in order to achieve the desired usage in the context of other rehabilitation centers.
