Projektet udspringer af en konkurrence om fremtidige Miele-produkter med fokus på køkkenet. Trendstudier pegede på, at enkle løsninger er mere hjælpsomme end at give brugeren utallige valg under madlavning. Målet var derfor at ændre oplevelsen af køkkenapparater og styrke glæden ved at lave mad sammen. Det endelige forslag, Symphony, er et samlet madlavningsområde, hvor emhætte (udsugningen over komfuret) og induktionskogeplade kommunikerer trådløst. The hood automatically adjusts to how the cooktop is used, so the user does not have to manage it; its front opens in a gentle, wave-like motion depending on the suction needed. The cooktop is divided into three heating zones with fixed temperatures. Instead of turning the heat up or down, the user moves the pot or pan to the desired temperature. This reduces decisions and makes interaction more intuitive. The cooking area is also extended to create space for enjoyable, social cooking. With Symphony, the user can focus on the fun part of cooking without worrying about adjusting the hood.
