Dette bachelorprojekt undersøger, hvordan unge socialt udsatte grønlændere i Danmark oplever stigmatisering—at blive mødt med negative mærkater og udelukkelse—og hvordan inklusions- og beskæftigelsesinitiativet Arctic Street Lab arbejder for social inklusion. Vi gennemførte kvalitative interviews og observationer med en hermeneutisk tilgang, der søger at forstå deltagernes egne perspektiver. I analysen bruges sociologen Erving Goffmans teori om stigma og filosoffen Axel Honneths teori om anerkendelse (at blive set, respekteret og taget alvorligt). Mange af de tilknyttede brugere har tidligere traumer og komplekse sociale problemer. Resultaterne viser, at de fleste oplever stigmatisering både i mødet med danskere, i kontakt med det offentlige system og også mellem grønlændere indbyrdes. Samtidig peger undersøgelsen på, at Arctic Street Lab bidrager til inklusion gennem støtte til brugerne i mødet med myndigheder, tværfaglige samarbejder (samarbejde mellem forskellige professionelle) og aktiv inddragelse i projektets interne fællesskab. Anerkendelse af den enkelte bruger fremstår som afgørende for følelsen af at høre til. Afslutningsvis fremsætter projektet handleforslag: et helhedssyn i det sociale arbejde, systematisk anerkendelse af borgeren samt tolkebistand, grønlandsksproget materiale og målrettet sprogundervisning for at inkludere flere udsatte grønlandske borgere i Danmark.

This bachelor’s project examines how young socially vulnerable Greenlanders in Denmark experience stigmatization—being met with negative labels and exclusion—and how the inclusion and employment initiative Arctic Street Lab works to promote social inclusion. We conducted qualitative interviews and observations using a hermeneutic approach focused on understanding participants’ perspectives. The analysis draws on sociologist Erving Goffman’s theory of stigma and philosopher Axel Honneth’s theory of recognition (being seen, respected, and taken seriously). Many users associated with the project have past traumas and complex social problems. Findings show that most experience stigmatization in encounters with Danes, in interactions with public services, and also among Greenlanders themselves. At the same time, the study indicates that Arctic Street Lab supports inclusion through user support when meeting authorities, cross-disciplinary collaboration (different professionals working together), and active involvement in the project’s internal community. Recognition of each user is crucial for feeling included. Finally, the project offers practical suggestions: adopting a holistic perspective in social work, systematically recognizing citizens, and providing interpreter assistance, Greenlandic-language materials, and tailored language teaching to include more vulnerable Greenlandic citizens in Denmark.
