Specialet undersøger den interorganisatoriske grænseflade mellem Psykiatrien i Region Nordjylland og Aalborg Kommune på dobbeltdiagnoseområdet, hvor samarbejdet om sindslidende med samtidig misbrug ofte er komplekst og præget af koordinationsudfordringer. Med afsæt i et kvalitativt casestudie baseret på interviews med aktører fra fire udvalgte afdelinger/enheder belyses, hvorfor samarbejdet vanskeliggøres, og hvad der er på spil på tværs af sektorerne. Den teoretiske ramme kombinerer David L. Browns begreber om inter- og intraorganisatoriske grænseflader med et professionssociologisk perspektiv og en magttilgang med fokus på frontlinjemedarbejdere. Analysen retter sig mod gensidige afhængigheder, informationsflows mellem sektorerne og tilbagevendende konflikter om ansvar, vurdering af udskrivningsparathed og anvendte behandlingsteknologier samt strukturelle forhold. Der identificeres samarbejdsformer og brobyggende roller, og udskrivningskonferencer diskuteres som arenaer for magtudøvelse. Konklusionskapitlet behandler underorganisering og konfliktniveauet i grænsefladen, implikationer for det tværsektorielle samarbejde og professionstilknytningers betydning for koordineringen omkring dobbeltdiagnosepatienter.
This thesis examines the interorganizational interface between the Psychiatry of the North Denmark Region and Aalborg Municipality in the field of dual diagnosis, where collaboration on people with mental illness and concurrent substance use is complex and often marked by coordination challenges. Using a qualitative case study grounded in interviews with actors from four selected departments/units, the study explores why cross-sector cooperation is difficult and what is at stake at the boundary between organizations. The theoretical framework combines David L. Brown’s concepts of inter- and intraorganizational interfaces with a sociology of professions perspective and a power-oriented lens focused on frontline workers. The analysis addresses mutual dependencies, cross-sector information flows, and recurrent conflicts over responsibility, readiness for discharge, and treatment approaches, as well as structural conditions. It identifies collaborative forms and bridging roles and discusses discharge conferences as arenas of power. The conclusion addresses under-organization and the level of conflict at the interface, implications for interorganizational cooperation, and how professional affiliations shape coordination around dual-diagnosis patients.
