Abstract

I 2021 startede Dansk Flygtningehjælp (DRC) et program, hvor tidligere flygtninge bliver frivillige. De får undervisning i empowerment-metoden, så de kan støtte en udvalgt flygtningefamilie i at begynde at deltage i foreningsliv og klubber i Danmark. Denne afhandling undersøger, hvordan frivillige lærer empowerment, og hvordan de oplever kontakten med de familier, de skal støtte. Undersøgelsen tager afsæt i Elisheva Sadans forståelse af empowerment (Sadan, 2004), som handler om at styrke menneskers evne til at træffe beslutninger og deltage i deres fællesskaber. Grundlaget er observationer af møder og workshops for frivillige i DRC samt interviews med frivillige og ansatte i DRC.
