Specialet undersøger patienters emotionelle behov i neurorehabilitering og hvordan disse kan imødekommes i receptiv musikterapi med fokus på indre billeddannelse. Arbejdet har to hovedspor: en litteraturgennemgang, der kortlægger og systematiserer viden om emotionelle behov og mulige indsatser, samt en kvalitativ, hermeneutisk casestudie-tilgang, hvor analyser af kliniske forløb med to patienter (fru A og fru B) illustrerer brugen af musiklytning og guidede fantasirejser. Med udgangspunkt i mennesker med erhvervet hjerneskade drøftes temaer som identitet, sorg, krise, coping, stemningsleje og motivation, og hvordan et æstetisk, trygt rum kan støtte følelsesmæssig bearbejdning uafhængigt af patientens fysiske og musikalske formåen. Specialet samler perspektiver fra praksis og litteratur for at tydeliggøre, hvad der kendetegner de emotionelle behov, og hvordan musikterapi kan medvirke til at møde dem i tværfaglig rehabilitering.

This thesis examines patients’ emotional needs in neurorehabilitation and how these needs can be addressed through receptive music therapy focused on inner imagery. The work follows two main strands: a literature review that maps and synthesizes knowledge on emotional needs and relevant interventions, and a qualitative, hermeneutic case study approach in which analyses of clinical work with two patients (Mrs A and Mrs B) illustrate the use of music listening and guided imagery. Centered on people with acquired brain injury, it discusses themes such as identity, grief, crisis, coping, mood, and motivation, and considers how an aesthetic, supportive space may facilitate emotional processing regardless of physical or musical ability. Bringing together practice-based insights and the literature, the thesis clarifies what characterizes these emotional needs and how music therapy can contribute to meeting them within interdisciplinary rehabilitation.
