Wind power is growing in terms of installed power and share in the supply network. Utility energy companies with the support of the government invest more and more in wind power. When it becomes a relevant contributor in the electrical network it
challenges the grid management and its stability. Wind has a stochastic behaviour which makes wind power intermittent.

Energy storage strikes the major problems of wind power. Joining energy storage with wind power smooths and filters big variations improving the power quality. Energy storage improves the strong peaks produced by turbulent winds, it reduces
large deviations from the average.

This project analyses the variations that are produced in wind in small and large time scales, develops a wind model that is able to generate coherent wind speed according to the characteristics of the zone and finally implements a model of a wind turbine.
