The project deals with the design of an indoor Golfcenter in the City of Vejle, Denmark. The Golfcenter is to be placed on the edge of the city centre and the beautiful nature of Vejle Valley. The Golfcenter is large in scale, in both height and size. The project relates to the problems concerning large scale buildings in a green and recreational context. The technical aspect of the project deals with the structural elements of large scale building with wood as the structural material. Methods form the Integrated Design process is applied to achieve a design with high architectural quality. Vejle Indoor Golfcenter is situated in the green nature of Vejle on the edge of the dense city. A line of activities brings the urban life of the city into the nature and surrounds Vejle Indoor Golfcenter as a whole. Vejle Indoor Golfcenter is a full length indoor Driving Range with facilities that match any outdoor facility. The tall long shape twists along the landscape, creating a link between the city and the nature. It is a dramatic building that relates gently to the recreational context. The structural elements of laminated wood contribute positively to the architectural expression. Vejle Indoor Golfcenter is the link between the urban life and the recreational nature.
