In this thesis I am curious about the link between stress and the social worker profession in Denmark. I have interviewed five social workers, who all have municipal authority.
Using existential and critical theory to examine the work conditions to explore if there are any hidden and unspoken reasons for stress, that we haven’t yet concluded.
I find that Danish social workers, who work in the public sector, must navigate a field of dehumanizing factors, that play a role in the high number of social workers with stress and overwhelm due to their work. It is the voices and the experiences from these social workers that the analysis and the conclusion is based upon.
