There has been a marked increase in the number of third-party libraries and their complexity. Furthermore, there are some common challenges in the documentation of the code. Therefore, this report aims to investigate how to develop documentation for third-party help libraries so that the work patterns of experts and beginners are taken into account. Furthermore, the project wants to investigate how to include several programming languages in the same documentation. Next, the project was limited to examining the design and structure of a front-page, how-to guide, and setup guide.
Furthermore, the starting point was the WappstoIoT library, which Seluxit developed. The project first gathered knowledge about the target group through existing literature and then via interviews and online questionnaires. Based on this knowledge, five iterations were performed, which among other things, combined heuristic evaluation and usability testing. Based on the results from the last iteration, it was demonstrated that it successfully designed the focus pages that fulfilled the project's purpose with the WappstoIoT library.
