The purpose of this project is to investigate
the pigmentation of skin by the use
of genetic markers. In order to do this
a multivariate linear model is used, since
there are repeated observations for each
person on 3 different positions of the body.
Of these multivariate linear models, the
GMANOVA is chosen. This project will
only focus on predicting pigmentation.
First the theory regarding GMANOVA is
introduced and then the GMANOVA is
implemented into R, and hereafter it is
used to analyse the pigmentation using
only the genetic markers. Then the results
are discussed in the last chapter.
This project found four genetic markers as
the most important for predicting pigmentation;
rs12913832, rs1408799, rs1800407,
rs2470102 for a p-value of 0.05.
