3. term, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Master (Master Programme)
Demand volatility and unreliable forecasts are common situations a company has to face. Danfoss is dealing with this topics in Bellows factory, an internal supplier. In collaboration with the company, this project's goal is to understand which is the most suitable production strategy for the bellows, firstly analyzing the as-is situation, the constraints, and the market demand, secondly investigating the best position of the Order Penetration Point through an analytical model and a cost analysis. A roadmap has been proposed in order to apply the suggested solution to every bellows or group of bellows. As an example, a case study related to the semi-finished goods, called Family Tubes, has been performed.
