This inquiry is a techno-anthropological investigation which attempts to add nuances to the original design assumptions of the assistive eating technology. That is done by illustrating the original design assumptions with an anthropological case study. Studying social construction around Bestic implementation helped to unfolded what symbolic meanings does it carry and how do those meanings influence the practice of using the artifact. The research outlines directions of some practical misconceptions related to implementation of Bestic in social institution; and thereby gains a more realistic picture of its abilities and limitations. However formulating proposition was the crucial part of this inquiry as I intended not only to be descriptive but in a some degree contribute to the stabilization of the introduction of assistive eating device.
